A philosopher's warning

This was what I had been telling people for years. Nobody listened. It was frustrating. How long will people keep enjoying the materialistic? Will they remain in the dark forever, till the world crumbles and sweep their bodies along? It was a sudden rise in temper. The frustration that the truth was ignored. I ran towards my table, fumbled with my pen as it moved on its own accord. It was no longer connected to my exasperated limbs, but to my determined mind. Which is why you are reading this.....

Yield not, to the fierce beauty
and charms of the queens of Illusion.
Mind not, the epidemics
that strike
the future, yours and others alike.
Heed not, the poisons that travel
ears to ears, mouths to mouths.
Anger not, the
Gods of all sects
you chose to worship and please.

Through every breath of life and beat of the heart,
pause, savor and live
the glory of all the moments, one at a time.
But forget not, the meaning of your self and your true abode
whose flag is Peace and banner is Silence.
Swift are the horses of darkness
and ruthless shall they become, the forces of evil.
The end is near and the truth is far.
May the reader be warned:
Think twice while the roads are clear
Walk wise, a king unchallenged
lest you perish in doom
drunk, with pleasures ephemeral.

  7. Brilliant, is what I'd say! See? This was what I was talking about. Rhyming is not important; it was nicely penned and I read the poem twice. Lovely message! Keep it up, Aravind! :)
